General Information
Runescape (or RuneScape) is a browser based multiplayer game by Jagex, programmed in Java. Runescape was launched in January 2001 - internet users from this date have been joining for free. Thousands of players are often playing the game at once, and so to spread the load there are over 20 servers located in London, Toronto, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and San Jose.
Gameplay
Runescape is set in a fantasy world, without an overall goal or objective, and without a defined ending. The game instead focuses on the interaction between the player's character and the world around it. Any player can converse with another player (both privately and publicly), trade with another (or give items without expecting something in return), or in certain circumstances can kill another.
Several in-game activities exist such as fishing, mining, wood cutting, and smithing, which when practiced increase the character's skill at the activities. As a character becomes more advanced at an activity, increasing their skill becomes more difficult and time consuming.
For some players the motive to play Runescape is to increase the skill levels of their character to match and better the skill levels of others. Some players are more interested in collecting large sums of "gold pieces" (the Runescape game currency), or in collecting rare items and equipment.
Communities
Sometimes groups of players come together and form exclusive groups, or "clans". As more than one clan exists, alliances are sometimes made, and clans can go as far as fighting each other. Clan members can contact each other by using Runescape's internal messaging system, or by using external websites and message boards.
The Runescape World
All new players begin Runescape on a tutorial island, where they are introduced to the game's interface, controls, and features. Moving around is accomplished by left-clicking on a piece of land (or on the map) with the mouse. The character either walks or runs to that piece of land, depending on the player's settings. Once the tutorial island is completed, the character is transported to one of Runescape's cities where the next step is up to the player. Players can choose between travelling the Runescape world for quests and items, or can work on increasing their character's skills. It is advisable that some effort is placed into increasing a character's combat skills as they may be attacked at some point by an NPC (non-player character).
Locations in the Runescape world include: Falador, Varrock, Draynor Village, Barbarian Village, Port Sarim, Port Khazzard, East and West Ardougne, Camelot Castle, Al Kharid, Dwarven Mine, and Crandor.
The Wilderness
At the north of the Runescape world is an area called "the Wilderness". This is one of the few areas where "PKing" (player killing) is allowed (in most areas of Runescape the option to attack a character is not presented). The Wilderness is a controlled area - as a player travels further into it, they are allowed to fight players with a wider range of combat levels. In some parts of the wild there is only one-on-one battles, however, there are many other parts of the Wildernes that allows team based battles (this area is often used for gang banging a player to win). Apart from allowing player killing, the Wilderness can be used during clue scrolls to find weapons, unlock chests...ect
Cheating
When Runescape was first launched, players attempted to develop methods of cheating. Programs have been created in the past which automatically control characters and perform tedious tasks. However, Jagex have developed macro detection routines and protections to check that humans are playing. Jagex also ask players that cheaters are reported.
Runescape 2
Runescape 2 was the development name for the improved Runescape code, which was released to all members on March 17, 2004. New features include:
* Different game screen.
* New 3D graphics engine.
* Shopkeepers and bankers can now deal with multiple players.
* New animations.
* A new skill was added: "Runecrafting".
* A class triangle was added: warrior defeats ranger, ranger defeats wizard, and wizard defeats warrior

Over the many years of my runescape journey i have compiled alot of information about gaining money, and i thought i should share this to the comunity of runescapers for FREE! Now if these ways of gaining money are done correctly then you may become even more rich than youd hope to be within believeable limits :).
now i guess ill get this started with the background of MERCHANTING:
so you know about merchanting hunh? you might but do you wish you knew more about it? yeah i thought so, and im sure there are people out there alot better than me but are they the ones giveing you this info for FREE? nope but i am.
ok so here it is.
1. the low lvl players that dont know what things are worth and will sell for realy cheap prices.
2. these players want cash and they want it now, they will go down in price if u can haggel with them right and will give in to reasonable offers.
3. repeat sellers, they will keap comeing back to you and sell you an item in bulk for a set price that you and him/her talk about before the agreement is made, although he may stop when ever he wants to.

Anti hack guide!:
This guide is for all of you that are paranoid like I am but don't know how to stop all the hackers and scammers in Runescape!
Let's start out with hacking:
1. Don't tell any one your password. Ever!
2. Change your password if u have the slightest fear that u may be keylogged
3. Make your password insanely hard to guess. Something like - 675835jefe - Something you can't just guess.
4. Don't use your Runescape password for other sites or sign in anywhere.
5. Set your recovery questions so if they do get your password you still got an account .
6. Run virus scans daily. Remember, Trojan horses usually have key loggers.
7. Make sure you have a firewall. Run Zone Alarm (a free firewall program) if you don't have one.
8. Only trust yourself and download nothing that has to do with Runescape. Avoid things like auto miners.
OK.. Now on to scamming
1. Never give anyone anything with out collateral. This way they won't walk off with your stuff.
2. Try not to believe everything you're told. It's not always true - like trimming armour, it just can't be done.
3. Know what you're getting when you buy from players.
4. Lots of high level guys scam so watch them closely.
5. Always check trade screen before accepting on both trade screens to make sure u have paid the right price or that the other guy didnt switch the item on you.
Here is a list of some scams that I have seen:
1. The trim scam - No one can trim armour. It's a treasure trail only item.
2. Account trading or selling. This one should be very easy to understand. Even if they give you the accounts password and you change it, they can still recover it!
3. The rune chain scam- A guy will sell a rune chain for cheap. They will show it to you and then switch the rune for mithril chain.
4. The item doubling scam - Drop your items on the ground and then press ALT + F4 or CTRL + W. All of your items on the ground will double. This doesn't work, you will close Runescape and the scammer will steal the items dropped.
5. free gem cutting- always trade uncut for cut gems it makes sense and avoids any problems (most good crafters will agree) if the refuse to do this they are most like likely a scammer.
6. noobs-Some people walk around saying stuff like "I am poor can I have some stuff?" or "I just died can I have some weapons or armour for free?" or "I just got hacked can I have some items?". it is not a good idea to "lend" money or give out money to "poor" people. If they were really poor then they would get up and go mining and make something from it.

MERCHANTING:
What is merchanting?
Merchanting is the art of buying and selling to make a living . People who are in the line of merchanting are called merchant or traders. You can say they are sly and cunning players who buy low and sell high . Well, that is the trait of a merchant. Preferbly, you should only sell when you have high quantities of the item such as feathers and runes. People tend to pay more if you got alot as it saves them alot of trouble to search for other players to purchase their goods.
The aim to sell is not to sell at a price where everyone will buy but to sell for a higher price so that you can earn. ( Unless business is that bad you have to sell like the rest )
Live by this rule :
Buy low Sell high,
Items needed to begine:
NONE! not even money, you can just gather things u find and sell!
-Collecting normal bones to sell for between 20gp - 100gp each depending on quantity. You can get this bones from almost every monster. For low levels, i suggest goblins , man , chicken , cow. There is a spawn point in edgeville dungeon (giant rats) and in the wild (North Of Varrock)
-Collecting feathers from chickens are very good business too. Feathers are needed especially to fletchers and fishers and they pay 10 - 18 gp per feather depending on your amount once again. Or you can try buying feathers from shops or players who sell for 5-8gp each then resell them. You can get bones from chickens too.
-Collecting cow hides give the best money for low level low cost items. Each cow hide can fetch up to 200gp if you have alot of them as well as getting bones from them. If you tan the hides at the al kharid tanner, people may pay up to 250gp each.
-Collecting or buying certain runes or runecrafting them will help too. Here is the price list on average that you can get selling them. Once again if you want to buy them to merchant , get them at around 50-60% of the price you intend to sell.
Air Rune - 10 - 25 gp each
Fire Rune - 10 - 25gp each
Earth Rune - 10 - 20 gp each
Water Rune - 10 - 20 gp each
Mind Rune - 10 - 30gp each
Body Runes - 10 gp each ( not worth it, to hard to sell)
In my opinion try to buy your runes at less than 15gp each .
- Rune Essence . I am sure more than 95% of Runescapians have done Runes mystery quest and can mine rune essence. This is great money especially when you mine it.You can resell it for like 20-40gp each when you got great quantities.
If you need rune essences, go to world 1 or any busy world is varrock east bank and scan for rune essence sellers. They sell really cheap. i got 2000 rune essences there for 8gp each once.
Note: Never merchant steel and down weapons and armor unless u got from a pk, the profit is poor and not to many people buy this stuff
Mid Level Mid Cost Items
-Collecting or buying these mid level runes or runecrafting are an added bonus since most mid level monsters such as ice warrior drops them very frequently.
What i am listing are the basic prices. You can get more.
Nature Rune - 300 - 350gp each
Chaos Rune - 100 - 170gp each*buy at shops for 90gp ea*
Death Runes - 250 - 350gp each*buy at shops for 180gp ea*
Law Runes - 350 - 500gp each ( Sometimes people pay 1k each when they need urgently)
Cosmic Runes - 50 - 150gp each
Soul Runes - 1k ea
Blood Runes - 500 - 1000gp each
- Cutting yew logs and selling at 275-300gp each or you can buy them for 200-250gp each to resell. Willow logs work fine too. You can buy from f2p world general shops at 12gp each or you can cut your own and resell for 50gp per
- (for members) Cut maple logs and sell for 100gp per. I do not suggest buying them because its really HARD to find anyone selling for below
- Buying Iron Ores at 100gp and Coal at 150gp each , smelt them into furnaces to make steel bars, you can resell for a good price of 500-600gp each
- Alternatively, mine your own iron ores and coal or get them at a cheaper price to resell as the ore or coal itself.
High Level High Cost Items
Things That Will Fall Under this list is non other than runite items and dragon items and holiday items and treasure trail items.
- Big Bones Cool Big Bones giving 15xp , its the favourite prayer training item for most people . You can get them from Giants , Ice Giant , Moss Giant and Fire Giant (members) and they fetch a cool 300gp - 400gp each. Buy them for 100-150gp from the newer players and resell in bulk to higher players. There is a spawn point North of Varrock in the wilderness
Runite
Runite items are very common, yet in high demand. If your a pker, sell off all your runite kills for big bucks. Sell your Runite
Large for 30k
Plate for 70-75k
Legs for 65k
Kite for 50-55k
or 170k for full rune and 220 - 240k for full rune with kite
Rune Scimitars are popular now, buy at 25k ea or so and sell for 30-35k ea
Rune 2 Handers are really out and battle axes are not really popular. This 2 items can fetch around 40k - 55k . Not easy to merchant this stuffs. More for pkers who pked this
Buy Rune Meds at 10k and alch them to make a neat 1k+ gp profit
Dragons
You need to have a couple million to do this
Dragon Items are not easy to merchant so if you want to merchant them, stick to the left half sheilds, dragon squares and dragon meds.
-For LEFT half sheild, purchase them at around 5.5M - 5.8M and resell them at 6M - 6.3M
- For dragon square , buy them at 6.8M-7M and resell at 7M - 7.2M or you can buy left half for 5.5M - 6M , get the right half for 250k - 750k and smith them together (you need 60 smithing) if you don't have 60 smithing , i suggest you don't do this method as people may scam you and run away with your stuffs
- For dragon med buy them at 2M-2.2M and resell for 2.2M-2.5M
If your lucky, you'll find these stuffs in monster drops. So far, its not easy =)
Holidays
You need a lot more million to do this
Buying and selling of holiday items are really risky yet results are good (results may vary) if you are smart and lucky. I cannot give you a price list for buying and selling for holiday items as they change constantly so you have to go to World 1 Varrock West Bank (North Of It) (F2P) or World 2 or 16 Falador East Bank (Garden North Of It) (P2P) to check up on prices.
If possible, buy below valuation items such as party hat prices go up and down constantly so make use of times when they are down to buy one and keep till they go up then sell it. Do NOT invest in a cracker because they are collectors item and no one merchants with them and not alot of people are rich. Lol
Haloween , Easter , X'mas items prices depends on the season. Say X'mas is up soon, prices for Santa Hats would rise up simply because there is a demand for it.
This holiday merchanting is basically supply and demand

You like armours? You want to merchant them? Only do Zamorak Full Kite and Saradomin Full Kite at around 3.4-3.8M each. Other armours are really hard to sell especially Guthix. Full Rune (T) has a small demand and commands a price of 1.5- 1.8M.
Due to christmas rush, rare item's prices have been rather unstable rising and dropping at times. Within a day blue party hat prices soared from 18M to 22M then back again.
(members only) Robin Hood Hat and range boots are popular and hot stuffs.
-Buy a robin at around 2.5 - 2.7M and resell them for 2.7M to 3M (if theres a demand)
-Buy a range boots at 500k -550k and resell at 600-750k (this item sells like hot cakes)
-mage boots buy for 100k sell for 150k

MINEING:
for the first weeks or so of my runescape carer i mined for my money, and i got to around 55 mineing within days of begining. But as the weeks went by i realised that alot of "low lvl players" AKA "noobs" sell some ores for pretty cheap prices, and well if u buy enouf of anything and sell it in a mass quanity the price goes up like every thing else. so soon after discovering this and gathering my money up by selling some stuff i went out to buy coal. Now coal is generally over 120+ gp ea now but in some cases you can get for about 100gp ea now lets say you buy alot of coal at 100gp ea and get about 1k coal, know what happens then? well the price bumps up to 150+ gp ea, now if u buy 1k coal for 100k and sell the 1k coal at 150gp ea you make a 50k profit in a matter of minutes becouse coal is usualy found in falador and there is usualy alot there but you have to be patient becouse sometimes there are no sellers willing to sell to you for around 115- gp ea but be patient, if noone else is buying they SHOULD give in but this isnt 100% you may have to haggel with them alittle. now for the selling of the coal, usualy you can go to some of the more populated worlds like world 1 or 4 or something and stand in falador east bank becouse i have come to learn thats just where everyone goes to sell ores for the most part. ALSO even if your NOT a member you can atleast look in the forums for people buying coal or whichever ore you may have in your possesion, and generaly they are buying alot of the ore and are paying more becouse most members (like i used to be) can make money real easy with n o effort, you just have to work smart no hard.

RUNES AND RUNE ESS.
ahh runes, i personaly am in favor of merchanting rune ess right now as well as chaos and death runes.
you may perchase chaos runes at 90gp ea from shops and death runes at 180gp ea from shops (mage shop)
now on the street players buy chaos for 150+gp ea and pay 250+gp ea for death and usualy u can make 100% profit but it takes some more time to do. now rune ess! to get ALOT of rune ess in a short amount of time, pick a semi populated world and go to it and stand in varrock east bank and buy ess, you must be firm with price unless they have like 700+ rune ess you may give alittle extra if they dont accept becouse alot of people have 100- rune ess. now lets just say you but 20k ess for 20gp ea, thats 400k now once again go look in forums or go to world 1 either one will do good and find a person who is buying for 35+ gp ea and NO less ok so u spent 400k on the ess and you sell the 20k ess for 35gp ea and get 700k from the buyer now 700k-400k=300k so youve made 300k profit in like minutes if there is alot of people selling or it might take you 30min's or an hour it mainly depends on the time of day your on buying.
i have personaly turned 100k into 1.25mill gp within 4 days of that and about 30min a day of auto talking asking for people to sell ess to me 20gp ea.

HERBS unidentified and idendified
when i was a member i made 2.5mill gp in under a week so this is by far my favorite job to do.
now for herbs, the monsters to get these from are chaos druids and they are located in the edge ville dungeon and there lvl 13 i believe. Now you may get your own AND when you see some lvl 50- in there ask them in private message if they will collect herbs for you and if they ask for a price say 750 ati first per herb. if they dont bite go up to 1k max per each unidentified herb. now once again go in forums and at this point you are a member so post in forums saying your selling herbs but you must have like 2k+ herbs id suggest for people to pay like 1.5k ea but if they say they will pay 1.5k ea and ask you to put the herbs up in trade 1 at a time DO NOT do it they only want your high lvl herbs for very cheap and you get ripped off.
OPTION #2: you may identify the herbs and make some potions, for either training or to sell but the low lvl pots dont sell well so there mostly for training, and the herbs are pricy so id suggest getting these on your own or buy some and get some like 50/50 or so and once you can id ranarr weed be happy couse thouse sell for 3k-5k ea and remeber, you buy herbs at 1k ea but not all will be ranarrs but pray to god there are alot of them! :) now you may id all the herbs you have boughten now for the herbs you cant sell, save thouse up till u have like 50+ of thouse (the more the marrier)
now once you have id'd all u can id go into forums and post saying your selling so many of each herb and put either a price or for them to offer and you should get some good offers.

The classic scam:requires tele grab
ah now all you need to do is go to the goblin village located north of falador, go up there and ask some low lvls like 35- to help you get the zammy wine. now if they say NO, the druids will attk me! then say no they wont, as long as you have a law rune on you they dont touch you and ask to prove it to him and go in there and get close to the wine with your back turned to him and tele grab the wine, then go and offer him a law and let him go a grab the wine lol but dont worry youll get your law back. now once he grabs it quickly run out the door and close it becouse he may try to escape but just keap closeing door and they die eventualy. this method is cruel and require the loss of your heart and consceience. but it works:)

ok i got 65 range now and am asked constantly whats the best way to lvl rangeing...well here is a short but acurate guide to dooing well in rangeing

MAGE guide:
Starting Magic:
I'm assuming you atleast have a little cash or are going to be crafting the runes on your own. Works best if you have a main with p2p and high runecrafting. id suggest buying mage robe (blue) as well as blue mage hat, then get some range chaps (to give u a decent def+)
Level 1-125 go to goblin village for this I used an air staff and mind runes to cast air strike until I reached level 25.
Level 25-35 Train with fire strike at same place (gob village) and dont use chaos runes unless u have lots of them and runes and money
Level 35-55 Train with fire strike or fire bolt (fire bolt better but cost more to use) This is the worst part it will seem like forever but just stick it out and you'll be amazing in the wilderness soon enough/ train at giants**bring some food**
LeveL 55-59 This is where it can get real easy at the expense of a bit hitpoints xp. You have the option of using high alchemy if you can buy enough nature runes if you pay 350 each or you can craft them if you have 44 runecraft or you can power teleport*recomended*. This is the method I used but if you are worried about having low hitpoints I reccommend you train with fire bolt on guards or fire strike on goblins.
After you reach 59 magic you will be low level 40's and there is a few things you can do to optimize your mage
-train attack,strength and range for hitpoints experience. The range, strength, and attack levels wont effect your combat as long as:
-(attack+strength) divided by 2 is less then your magic level
-your range is less then your magic level
-you can also train defense which will raise your combat quite a bit but allow you to not get hit as often.(note:mages always get hit harder by melees and rangers, no matter what)*get def to about 20-30 or so your choice
Now your ready to kill some players!!
1.equip all your mage gear (fire staff,anti-dragbreath shield, magic ammy, mage robes+hat) and buy some death runes,airs, natures, earths, and water runes
2.most people look down upon it but if your carrying alot of runes on you it might be smart to bring a law rune.
3.get a full load of tuna, lobsters or swordfish and about 80 chaos or death runes NEVER bring all runes
4.set your spell to fire blast and kick some ass! If someone is running you can cast bind this works best when with a team so you can bind while other teammate(s) attack. (note:eat when 3/4 or less hp)

COMBAT guide

General Info: Well as a low lvl player you may think you can kill anything under your combat lvl or near it but on the contrair, some npc's (non player creatures) have there stats built specificaly for a type of fight like say your lvl 22 with iron or steel armor and you go to fight the lvl 21 guards in falador or varrock, the guards may have a high defence lvl not allowing you to hit as hard or as often so in cases of this you make sure you have enouf food to stay alive and prayer and energy to run if need be.

Armor and Weapons: There are many types of armor and weapons in the world of runescape. There are weapons and armor that anybody can use, and those of witch only members can use, but for each different type of armor/weapon you need specific stats to wield or wear.
Here are the weapon types and who can use them. F2p (free play) :Dagger, Short Sword, Long Sword, 2 Handed Sword, Mace, Battle Axe, and Scimitar, & P2p (members): Hatchet and Throwing Axe as well as all the other weapons listed. There are many types of each of thouse weapons like bronze(**the lowest type of weapon**)teel, mithrill (mith), Adamantite (Addy), Runite (Rune), and Dragon (sorry members only)**also the best**.
The armor comes in all the same varieties as weapons (bronze through dragon) Here are the different pieces of armor. for both member and non member: Medium Helmet, square shield, Large Helmet, Chain Mail, Kite Shield, Plate Legs, Plate Skirt, and a Plate Mail Body.
now the differences in the armors are the deffence and offence capabilties, with bronze you get the lowest of both offence and defence, iron is alittle better but not much, steel is better than bronze and iron but still not the best armor and easy to come buy, mith alot better than all of the armors listed below and cost somewhat more than them, now addy this is the 2nd best armor for the free players and 3rd best for members so its pretty good for pking if u dont want to loose the really good stuff, rune armor the best and most common among both worlds of runescape its defence and offence capabilities are both really good, **members** dragon armor the best in the game but not to much better than rune; it is also very pricy! and very good looking but there is only med helm sq sheild legs and chain mail.

Low Level Training
Level 1-10: Ok so you’re a newbie to the game. level 3 and under or you may be higher like 5 or something. id suggest fighting chickens and collecting feathers becouse there are worth 10gp ea average.
Level 10-18: Well you have progressed a slight bit. Now you can fight slightly more powerful creatures. Now you can move out a little bit, but be careful, there are still a lot pretty dangerous creatures just a little ways out. Now id suggest you fight creatures from level 3 to 5. Some of these these creatures include: Giant rats, Monkeys, imps, and Highway men.
Level 18-24: Ok so you are over level 18. You should consider buying, or making some bronze armor about now. Well you should train on creatures levels 5 – 10 now. But be careful if you don’t have armor some of the level 9s and 10s may kill you. Creatures you should fight about now are farmers(in lumbridge), barbarians (in barb village west of varrock), **goblins**(in goblin village north of falador). these characters are not hard to find.
Level 24-29: Now you’re starting to go places. ****you absolutely NEED ARMOR and probly iron armor**** id suggest fighting Monsters level 5 – 13 would be good to train on now. This include: dwarfs(in the dwarf mines area north east of falador) and zombies(in the cave in varrock)(west of varrock palace in a sewer hole) ECT.
Level 30-35: So you are over level 30, At this point you should try getting some steel or mith weapons and armor, it could be helpful. You should train on monsters level 13 – 20. These are monsters such as scorpions, thieves, stronger zombies, and possibly some ghosts, these creatures can be found in the dwarven mines, and in varrock.

Medium Level Training
Level 35-42: Ok, now you’re moving into the medium levels, life just got harder for your character. You really need to be improving your characters weaponry and armor. You should definitely have steel armor, and be working towards mith. You should start working on stronger monsters, level 15-23. Some monsters in this level range are skeletons(varrock sewers), zombies(varrock sewers), guards(in palaces or in town squares of major towns like falador and varrock)***BRING FOOD***
Level 42-59: You should have mith armor and weapons by now, and you should be upgrading to addy if you can. You should fight monsters level 20-35. These monsters include: **Giants**(in edge ville dungeon, also save the big bones becouse they are worth about 300gp ea!! or use them to gain high prayer)**, zombies, al kaharid guards (al kaharid palace) now you will start to make some real money, but your training is going to get harder.
Level 60-69: Now you can start playing with the big boys. You need to have addy or rune armor. The new monsters you will be fighting are much harder and will require a lot more defence. You should train on monsters level 40-48. These monsters include: White Knights, Hob Goblins, and skeletons. These creatures can be found in falador but be carefull becouse they can hit hard so once again **BRING FOOD**

High Level Training
Level 70.-80: Ok Now you are a big boy but you still have along ways to go. Now you should train on some high level monsters and have some very high level armor. You need to have at least addy to handle some of these new monsters, but rune is much better. Rune will help against monsters such as demons. Now it is safe to train on any monster from level 85 and down. You’re just that strong. Some of the new high level monsters you can handle are. Ice Giants and warriors(cave south of rimmington), lesser demons(karamanjama cave west of town in the volcano), and Green Dragons (members only). If you train on dragons you should probably use a fire proof shield though and **be carefull of pkers**.
Level 81-100: Now you are really a powerful warrior, you are one of the strongest in the game. You can train on almost any monster. Now, you could easily defeat a level 90 and it is within your power to defeat a level 100. There are some wicked strong monsters at this level, but unfortunately most of them are for members only. Some of the monsters are Greater demons, **fire giants(good drops)**, and blue dragons(bones worth 3k ea). Just remember on dragons, you should always have a fire proof shield, if you don’t have one you will be killed realy easily. F2P: id suggest fighting lesser demons still.
Level 101-126: Ok well I just think at this point I should be honest. There isn’t much more I can tell teach you. You have progressed through the stages and are now one of the top players, but you still have a long way to go to get level 126. Anyways, congrats on reaching such a high level. You are now the best there is.

Rune ess guide!!!

To even start the Runecrafting skill u must have completed the RUNE MYSTERIES quest. Since this is need i will walk you through the quest here also.
Level= None, Any level will do
Skills= None required
Items= none
To start talk to the duke in lumby castle. He will give you an air tally to take to the head wizard in the wizard tower south east of draynor village.
Upon reaching the tower head down to the basement. After you are done talking to him he will give you a package to give to aubury in varrock. Aubury is just south of the east bank. (in the rune shop) Talk to aubury and he will give some notes to take back to the wizard. Head back to him and speak with him. YOUR DONE
You get 1 Quest Point and and Air Talisman.
OK NOW TO THE RUNECRAFTING
To mine the rune essence you will need a pick ( you get ess very fast so any kind will do).
-Headwizard in Wizard tower
- Aubury in the runeshop in Varrock *Recomended for non members*
- Wizard Cromperty, East Ardougne
- Wizard Distentor in the Magic guild
- Brimstail Gnome in the Gnome tree village, underground cave
^^^^^^Those NPC's will teleport you to the ruen ess mine. After being there enter the portal to leave.
You can get talismans from many creatures:
